Ubuntu is a widely used Linux distribution that is based on the Debian architecture. It is a free and open-source software that can be customized to suit a user’s needs. The distribution comes with over 1,000 software packages, including the Linux kernel, a GNOME/KDE desktop environment, and standard desktop applications like word processing, web browsing, spreadsheets, and web server. Ubuntu is also equipped with programming languages, integrated development environment (IDE), and several PC games. It is compatible with desktops and servers and supports multiple architectures, such as Intel x86, AMD-64, ARMv7, and ARMv8 (ARM64). Canonical Ltd., a UK-based company, provides backing for Ubuntu.
